Went to lunch and they were on point. Super knowledgeable in the menu, smiled the whole time. Food came out on time and how we wanted our appetizers first and then salads and then main meal. Was perfect.

Very dark place. Seats are meant for little people. Food was ok. But our first waitress and floor Manager was excellent shots goes out to them.

Stopped here for lunch on a Saturday. We were promptly seated and had a server right away. I haven't been to this place since it was rebranded but the food is as good as the original restaurant. I had a great prime rib for lunch. They have a nice variety of things on the menu so something for everyone.

Great 'sit at the bar' atmosphere. Good selection but only 6 beers on tap. Bar nut recipe must have changed not as good as I remember.

Recently ordered two salads for pick up during the COVID lockdown. $27 for $3 worth of salad ingredients. Mostly cabbage (large pieces), about 6 croutons, and a sprinkling of cheese. One was ordered with chicken - skimpy. Very, very disappointing. Doubt if I ever go back.

We were seated immediately, and then sat for 20 minutes with absolutely no service during lunch today. The dining room was very lightly seated. There were no less than five servers that passed us without so much as making eye contact. Three more hanging out by the window into the kitchen doing nothing. We will not be returning.

This is the first time I’ve been here and I found the staff here super professional and dressed very well The food was excellent and I would recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a quality meal Mia was my server and she us excellent

One of my favorite chain restaurants. Always clean, friendly service and beyond excellent service. Food quality is consistent. Portions are generous. Highly recommend.

I am giving 3 stars after rounding up the average from experiences the past two weeks. The curbside menu is different than the dine in menu: a Captain Jacks chicken platter is $15, and now has only one side. Not knowing that, I ordered 2 sides and was charged $5 additional for 1/2 cup of slaw. There was no service ware included. Today I was charged $17 for the $15 meal. The employee was friendly and considerate in making sure condiments and serviceware were provided.I have tipped over 20% each time, recognizing th impact of the pandemic on service providers. The food was delicious, so I am thankful for the consistency there, however the inconsistency in pricing and service has affected the customer trust and loyalty they once had. Hopefully, today’s good service will be the trend forward

Service and atmosphere is always great. However they take good food and distroy it with too much butter. I even said no butter but my vegtable was loaded with it. Don't go here if you want a healthy meal.

Appetizers, entrees, staff, atmosphere... all 5 stars. 30-minute wait on a Saturday evening with out a reservation.

What happened? This has always been my favorite restaurant but after last night, I’m not so sure. We invited friends out and ordered spinach con quesso. The chips were heavily salted to almost being not edible. 3 salads were delivered that was to go to table behind us. But to even be asked if we wanted to keep them? Water glasses not filled and when main course was delivered, dishes had not been cleared. I fail to see any value for the cost. Again... what happened?

We ordered a little extra so that we could take home some leftovers. We asked for take home boxes. When we open the box at home, it was almost empty. Damn!

Luv this place been going for years for special occasions. It kinda throws u off because u have to reserve a table now last time my family was there we could not sit together.

Absolutley fantastic. Went there for Valentine's Day and my birthday and both visits were amazing. Service? Great. Food? Delicious. Atmosphere? Romantic and soothing.

Redlands is very nice and our waitress was terrific. Nice upscale atmoshere, and I like being able to see the work in the kitchen that way you know everything is clean. Prices are a bit high, but the food was very good.

Consistent as the others I’ve been to but I rated it one less star because they changed their reservations to a new website that makes me lose my points AND when I showed up my reservations were not put on file even after I had called and spoke to a host. Fortunately they had a table but this could have been a horrible situation for a special dinner. Service was excellent and food was fantastic. Just don’t count on your reservations at this location being available. The host stand needs a lot of training. The first impression was this place was going to be a problem. Fortunately that was the only disappointment but it set a very bad tone from the start.

You can't go wrong with the prime rib and the Mac $ cheese in there.

My first experience was a very good one. I had the prime rib with grilled zucchini. My steak was perfect like butter. Of course it's a little pricey but it's well worth the coin. I would recommend it for a date night for sure.

Open for lunch and seasonal menus available. Best veggie burger I have tried. The trout is also excellent. Service was above average, but the food was great.

Love, love this place but they totally failed us on a birthday celebration curb side pickup today. You are way overpriced on the items you are offering and the food was not even room temperature at our scheduled pickup time. You left off one very important item the dessert I had to call in and get credit for that because your stuff is way too expensive and we even added a 20% tip to help you all out. There were even condiments missing off the entrees. When you live 8 miles away there is no going back to get it. We will stick with small local business next time they pay attention to the details.

Amazing food and quick service! Best onion rings and chicken tenders we've ever had. Well cooked and large portions. We'll enjoy the leftovers. Thanks for the great service, Elicia!

Superb service and delicious food

This is a pleasant place to dine. Good price, excellant wait staff and super food.

The food was great. The staff was exceptional. I had a reservation, showed up 20 minutes early and was seated 10 minutes before reservation.

I've been coming here for over 20 years and it's still one of my favorite restaurants. The service is almost always excellent and the food is always superb! I have noticed a slight decline in their attention to detail since transitioning to Redlands but it's still always worth the trip and the money when we stop in. Our favorite menu items include the Steak Rolls appetizer, the Redlands Salad (an absolutely perfect dinner salad), and their divine Steak Maui continues to be my go-to entree. I also recommend their Prime Rib, Steak Burger and Rattlesnake Pasta. But I honestly haven't ever had anything here I wouldn't order again. And if you ever have room for dessert, their Carrot Cake is heavenly.

Most excellent! Very clean restaurant. Waitress was awesome. Food extraordinary awesome. Would recommend this fine dining experience.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food was ok but nothing special. I've had better quality and flavor for much less at other places. It seems you are paying more for the ambiance than for the food.

After the way this place treated my grandmother while trying to celebrate she and my late grandfather's anniversary, my family and I do not plan to return. After initially asking for a large reservation on the date of the anniversary, she was told that their party room was not available that day and that we would have to pick a weekend time. That was no issue until we called the day off to give them a head count, as requested, and were that our group of 23 could not be accommodated and that we would owe a $50 cancellation fee if we did not fill the reservation. The management was quite rude to my grandmother and impossible to work with on the matter. We obviously did not fulfill the reservation and were in fact charged the $50 fee. If they have a limit on head count in their "party" room, it should be communicated at the time of the reservation and not allowed to ruin a special evening for a family mourning a recent loss.

Good experience. Missing a personal touch they used to have, replaced by the vibe (food/service) you get from an upscale chain restaurant. This doesn't take away from what it is, just how it changed and you're still going to have a great meal.

6 Months ago I would have said I have had nothing but excellent meals in the 20+ years that I've been going to J. Alexanders (Redlands). However the in the last 6 months, each visit has left me with the overall impression of "meh...". Whether it's the wait staff forgetting simple things, or like tonight where our main course was brought out not 5 min after our salads and the steaks not cooked to order, it just doesn't seem like it has the same quality of food and service that it used to. It's still a good restaurant, but I'm sad to say I'll no longer be classifying it as my favorite.

My First time today the food was extremely fresh and full of flavor. If your ever close it's worth the stop. A lil pricey but great food and service.

It was my Birthday Dinner on Thursday, and everything was fantastic! Wonderful service, fantastic choices. We got the Smoked Salmon Dip as an appetizer. It was very tasty, but I think I like the deviled eggs the best. I also ordered the Steak Mazza, which was scrumptious. Super tender steak medallions, with a lovely mushroom masala sauce. Totally worth it for any occasion hands down.

Went for lunch before the Church crowd on Sunday - super friendly waiter and very quick service. Food is amazing as usual. Adults, don't resist the urge to get the chicken tender meal - my husband and father get it every time because it is their all-time favorite! Also, their salads are not skimpy - you will feel full when you are done.

I love this place... so relaxing and elegant...But the waitresses don't have the best personalities.

Delicious but these onion rings were a bit much. Still hard with a raw onion bite. Not sweet and no fun to chew. Everything else was just fine!

I loved this restaurant for years, it is a upscale restaurant and the food is always incredible! The prices are rather high but their quality makes up for it! I did take back 1 star only for the atmosphere. Last I had been it was adult only and formal dress, this time there were many people in Jean's and tshirt as well as several screaming children. It just took away from the evening

Redlands grill is one of the best places in Dayton to go to for a solid stake. The atmosphere is perfect and the staff is very friendly!! 😊

Excellent service and food and prices are very reasonable, really! Salad/soup and side included, you don't find that back east. People are really nice in Ohio! We had steak brazzo, tasty and tender. Has sort of Mediterranean flavor, cinnamon. Restaurant was not crowded, no TVs, nice quiet place for dinner. Had the H2 cab which went well with the steak. Highly recommend this place.

This is my top favorite restaurant brand. I always have good service and good food but today we went and it was still Brunch so since I never had brunch I decided to try it. I choose the Belgium Waffle with bacon meal, this was a big mistake for me because for one the bacon was candied maple bacon which this does not say on the brunch menu. I was so disappointed because it was somewhat hard and extra chewy, I wanted regular fried bacon. The waffle was light and fluffy like I like it but the marinated strawberries with the sauce made some of it soggy in the middle. There was also some type of cream on top of my strawberries which made the whole meal extra sweet with the maple bacon and the syrup on the waffles. I was very disappointed and just ate it since I was hungry. Service was A+ as always but I will never get this meal and if I do I would request my bacon be fried normal and strawberries on the side.

The food is always hot and fresh and the service is always good. If they have the spaghetti squash, I highly recommend it.

Great experience! Our server, Yazan, gave excellent service to our party of four. He was attentive to my mother-in-law's allergies. My southern (fried) chicken salad was delicious; it addition to a heap of fresh avocado slices, this salad is topped with these oversized bread croutons that are soft and taste just like french toast sticks - surprisingly tasty! We were celebrating two birthdays and they brought out two large, sharable pieces of carrot cake.

Great service even better food. Be prepared for a wait, they stay pretty busy. Making a reservation is the way to go!!

The cuisine is amazing, with matching ambiance. My first dining experience here certainly won't be my last! Absolutely delicious!

we did take out for mother's day dinner we had prime rib salad and the queso and I will tell you there was nothing else better than we could have ever made in our kitchen it was fabulous the service was great got there 15 minutes early they pulled it out immediately we got it home everything was warm is fabulous and I would do it again

Always great! Love the Rotisserie Chicken with a side of Orzo and Wild Rice that is wonderful.

Ordered the Redwood Salad lunch special: rotisserie chicken, avocado, bacon, and cheddar cheese. Served with a honey butter croissant. Delicious food and courteous service.

Service was good at this location (sat at the bar), but the Maui Steak was truly sub-par. The description said marinated ribeye with potatoes. Now I should have asked what type of marinade, but I figured something standard. When I received it, it was drenched in some Hawaiian pineapple sauce. Any true steak house or steak lover does not get a quality steak drenched with something. If it’s Quality cut, you won’t need anything. They should describe the “marinated” portion on the menu. I still ate it because it was edible and I’m big on not wasting away meat.
